Context
Knife crime has increased over the last decade, affecting families and communities. The Joe Dix Foundation works locally to combat county lines exploitation.
I am concerned about the increase in knife crime and the involvement of young people in county lines, which is a significant issue in Norwich. Can you reassure me that the Government are investing all they can in preventive measures and explain what support is being provided to organisations like the Joe Dix Foundation?
I met with my hon. Friend recently to discuss this issue. Organisations such as the Joe Dix Foundation do amazing work to help keep people safe and prevent them from joining county line gangs. Through our Home Office programme, we are targeting exploitative gangs and providing specialist support for children and young people. Our new young futures programme will establish prevention partnerships in every local authority to identify at-risk individuals.
Assessment & feedback
Did not specify the exact level of investment or specific details about the Government's financial commitment to preventive measures.
