Context
The ongoing conflict in Sudan continues despite pressure for a ceasefire from various international actors. Reports of atrocities and the risk of further human rights violations have raised concerns.
What steps her Department is taking to help secure a ceasefire in Sudan, given that the situation has escalated with continued fighting, including in Kordofans?
Last week, I met incredibly brave Sudanese volunteers who run community-based emergency response rooms that the UK is supporting. Despite pressures from all sides for a ceasefire, the conflict and atrocities are continuing. Alongside the Development Minister, the UK special envoy to Sudan, and our ambassadors and officials, I am in continual contact with the US, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and the Saudis—the members of the Quad—who are supporting action for a ceasefire.

The conflict has now spread to 14 out of 18 states in Sudan. There is growing concern about the humanitarian impact as well as the need for a ceasefire.
What plans are being made for the evacuation of civilians and humanitarian workers, given that there is compelling evidence that RSF will take Tawila before Christmas? Will the Foreign Secretary update on Government’s efforts to increase humanitarian support from international partners, particularly those in the middle east? Where are women and civil society in the process of securing a ceasefire?
I welcome my hon. Friend’s continued efforts to raise this issue, as Sudan faces a horrendous humanitarian crisis with rape being used as a weapon of war. We have recently put forward a resolution at the UN Human Rights Council and will continue to raise this issue with all our international partners.

During his visit to the White House, the Saudi Crown Prince asked President Trump for help in stopping the slaughter in Sudan.
As Sudan is a UK lead at the UN, will the Foreign Secretary ensure that this issue is on the agenda during telephone calls between our Prime Minister and President Trump?
I have already discussed Sudan on several occasions with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and I will continue to do so. We need continued pressure from all sides on the warring parties to sign up to a ceasefire or humanitarian truce so that we can get the talks started.

Context
The humanitarian organisations providing aid have been targeted by all warring parties, despite being strictly neutral.
What representations has she made about the need to protect these brave volunteers who are directly targeted with each change of control?
We will continue to speak up for Sudanese and other aid workers. The bravery shown by these volunteers means they themselves are directly targeted; they described how, with each change of control, they end up getting targeted again by the warring party that has taken control of the area.
