Grassroots boxing gyms offer local communities unparalleled benefits, building skills and confidence and becoming safe spaces for young people. Unfortunately, these gyms remain very unfunded and rely almost entirely on volunteer goodwill. Will the Minister meet me and the all-party parliamentary group to discuss including dedicated grassroots funding in the sports strategy?
Grassroots sports contribute significantly to communities by providing opportunities for sport, socialisation, skill development, and health benefits. The Government supports grassroots facilities through a £123 million programme. England Boxing received £6.8 million from Sport England in 2022. I would be delighted to meet the hon. Gentleman further to discuss the issue.

Grassroots sports provide numerous health, economic, welfare, and community benefits. The Culture, Media and Sport Committee is launching an inquiry called 'Game On' to investigate these areas. What conversations is the Minister having with her counterpart in the Department for Education about how to work collaboratively to build a lifelong love and passion for sport among young people?
We collaborate closely with the Department for Education, including chairing roundtables and convening meetings on women's sport. Representatives from the Department for Education were present at these discussions.
