A major incident was declared in August after a wildfire broke out near RAF Fylingdales, a critical military infrastructure site.
Following the Langdale moor fire where a wildfire threatened RAF Fylingdales, given the increasing threat that wildfires pose to our security, can the Minister confirm whether he will consider automatically activating a national resilience response in future incidents where critical military infrastructure is under threat?
I am pleased that the emergency services and local community responded bravely. The risk is well known to local responders who can call on central Government for support. The national resilience wildfire adviser assesses additional capabilities needed for future incidents.
