Context
Following the Minister's earlier response about steps to increase UK-EU trade, Rachel Blake asked for more specific updates on several fronts.
I listened carefully to the Minister’s response and am encouraged by the progress that is being made. When does he expect the UK-EU summit to take place? Is he expecting a completion of the negotiations on a sanitary and phytosanitary agreement and the youth experience scheme? Will he also update us on the approach to touring artists, to help ensure that they can access EU markets?
We are working at pace to deliver a better trade deal with the EU. On food and drink, we are fine-tuning the agreement reached last year; on SPS, negotiations continue; and regarding touring artists, securing their access to EU markets is of paramount importance, including personal promises made to Elton John.
