At a Glance

This petition concerning pine trees development was presented to Parliament once by 1 MP.

Issue Summary

The residents of Pine Trees in High Wycombe are concerned that the local council did not adopt open spaces as originally promised, despite evidence suggesting this was a condition for granting planning permission.

Action Requested

The petitioners request that the House of Commons urge the Government to legislate so that councils are responsible for remediation if they fail to meet conditions attached to planning permissions granted to developers. They also ask Steven Baker to seek to broker a solution.

Key Facts

  • A petition signed by 524 residents
  • The local council failed to include a commuted sum in the Section 106 planning conditions
  • Taylor Wimpey paid more than £2 million for a bus link scheme which has since been abandoned, funds could have supported park adoption
  • Bobcat Park would be adopted by the local authority and residents would not need to pay towards its upkeep
  • The council opposes adopting the park, leaving maintenance costs to residents

I am therefore pleased to have received a petition signed by three but accompanying a much longer petition signed by 524 residents. The petition states:
