I rise to present a petition signed by people from Ealing, Acton and Chiswick—all parts of my constituency. Fittingly, they are all women, because it regards Notting Hill and Ealing High School, an all-girls school that is 150 years young this weekend. If I am to declare an interest, it is that I am product of that school, as many women have been since 1873. The petition states:
“The petitioners…request that the House of Commons urges the Government to celebrate the achievements of”—
the outstanding—
“Notting Hill and Ealing High School”.
In fact, it is not just a high school; it educates people from kindergarten and all the way from four to 18 years old. It urges the Government
“to recognise the historic and important role it has played in supporting girls’ education”
and empowering women.
