It is a minor miracle that the Prime Minister has even made it through to Prime Minister's questions. He really ought to see the faces behind him. How many more Ministers need to quit before he finally picks up his pen and writes his own resignation letter?

Actually, I was just jotting down some notes about the right hon. Gentleman's question, which I thought was excellent when he was talking about the economy, because that is the issue that the country faces. That is where this Government are introducing, I think, the most important decisions—helping families up and down the country, with £1,200 going into their bank accounts right now; cutting taxes for 30 million people, with a £330 tax cut; and helping half a million people into work, through the Way to Work scheme.

Derriford Hospital in my constituency is part of the new hospital building programme announced by this Government; work on the new emergency department starts this year. That is a significant investment for the amazing staff there and the brilliant chief executive, Ann James, who works so hard. Given the incredible pressures on real estate in Derriford, will my right hon. Friend consider prioritising capital investment in that part of the UK to ensure that we can accelerate these plans—particularly in digital—so that people in Plymouth get the world-class healthcare they deserve?

My hon. Friend is absolutely right: this is the largest hospital building programme in a generation, and his constituents are going to benefit very directly. I can tell him that there will be a new integrated emergency care hospital scheme for University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust at the Derriford emergency care hospital.

During my recent visit to Ukraine, I witnessed firsthand the courage of Ukrainians in defending their nation. Given the lethal aid provided by this Government, do you agree we should double down on our military assistance to Ukraine? Could this lead to breaking Russia's poorly equipped army and securing peace?

The MP highlighted the bravery of Ukrainians defending their country and criticised the idea that other nations might tire of supporting Ukraine, urging for increased support.

Absolutely right, my hon. Friend recently visited Ukraine and saw the bravery firsthand. We will indeed double down on military defensive aid to Ukraine. No Labour Government could match this commitment; they voted against our nuclear deterrent and would not provide such support.

Does the Secretary of State agree there is a landing zone for victims and veterans to address grievance industry issues, ensuring a lasting legacy agreement so Northern Ireland can move forward?

My hon. Friend is absolutely right. It is important that we find a way forward that works for the people of Northern Ireland, delivering for victims, survivors and veterans; has a lasting ability to move things forward; and ensures those who do not know the truth will have a chance to get it in a reasonable timeframe.

On the weekend, I received another call from the media with a briefing from the Northern Ireland Office saying that legislation and a statement would be coming out this week. This is the seventh deadline to produce this legislation—self-set by the Secretary of State—that he has missed. Does he have any intention at all of honouring his word?

The MP received media briefings indicating repeated missed deadlines for Northern Ireland Office legislation. The Secretary of State had set seven self-imposed deadlines.

I do not recognise what my hon. Friend just outlined. I said that I would set out to Parliament our intended direction of travel and what we wanted to do before the summer recess, and we did that with the Command Paper. We did have an ambition to legislate this autumn, but we have had ongoing conversations with victims groups and veterans groups, the Irish Government and the parties in Northern Ireland. This is a complex area, and we need to ensure that when we deliver legislation on this, it works for the people of Northern Ireland and those who served there.
