The steel industry is a national strategic asset. British Steel employs over 600 people in Redcar and Cleveland, more than 3,000 in Scunthorpe. The Government supported British Steel until a new buyer was found.

We have an ambitious plan for better use of British steel with a 7.6 million tonne pipeline over the next decade. The Government is considering the Trade Remedies Authority's recommendations and the Department for International Trade will update the House later today.

For the first time in my lifetime, we are now a fully sovereign and independent nation, so I would like to thank the Prime Minister, on behalf of the people of Redcar and Cleveland, for getting Brexit done. As my hon. Friend the Member for Rushcliffe (Ruth Edwards) pointed out, one key benefit of Brexit is our ability to create 10 new free ports. In Teesside, we have the largest brownfield development site in Europe, the deepest port on the east coast, a fantastic Tees Valley Mayor in Ben Houchen and a plan to create 15,000 jobs over the next 20 years. So does the Prime Minister agree that the best place for our first post-Brexit free port is Teesside?

The Minister will know that there is growing support for scrapping the licence fee or axing the TV tax, not least in Redcar and Cleveland, where the Bilsdale mast fire left people without TV reception. Does the Minister agree that this is not an acceptable situation and that if the BBC were a satellite, broadband or phone provider, a refund for time without service and, in some cases, even further compensation would have been expected? Given that the BBC is using my constituents' licence fees to pay celebs hundreds of thousands of pounds—

I have been working very closely with Arqiva to try to restore those services urgently, and I believe 98% of households have now had their Freeview restored, but I believe the BBC has also been issuing refunds. It has got to something like 11,000 refunds now; if my hon. Friend wishes to take this issue up with the BBC, I recommend that he do so.

My hon. Friend makes an important point. As I said a minute ago, we cannot just switch off oil and gas immediately. We want a transition, and this Government are investing significantly, with £160 million in floating wind farms, £20 million for tidal stream and the £285 million next round of contracts for difference, but it is important that we do not lose our domestic oil and gas supply not only for energy, but for the whole range of purposes, including medicine and other vital products.

My hon. Friend makes a very good point. That part of the country is really on fire at the moment. It is fantastic that so much is happening on Teesside. There are some brilliant local Members of Parliament assisted by a fantastic Mayor as well. I am pleased to say that the Darlington economic campus is up and running. Almost all Treasury roles are now being advertised as available in Darlington, and we are recruiting exclusively for Darlington-based Treasury roles. These are great jobs working on issues that really matter to our country.

I thank my hon. Friend for raising this issue. We sometimes need to pause for a moment to take in the enormity of what is happening. The Church of England continues to press the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office to provide the financial and technical assistance necessary to address these horrendous violations of religious freedom. Can you assure me that your Department is doing everything it can to support the people of Lebanon with their vaccine deployment?
Context
The question discusses the crises in Lebanon, including the port explosion and economic instability.

My hon. Friend is absolutely right. He will recall that, last year, as that terrible disaster took place, we committed $2 million in extra support for medical equipment. In relation to vaccines, in March, Lebanon received its first doses from COVAX: 33,600 AZ vaccines. The UK, through our £90 million commitment, got the AstraZeneca vaccine at cost price to the world, and the vast majority of COVAX doses—some 98%—that will have reached Lebanon have been the AZ vaccine.

['56% of people believe more needs to be done to tackle antisocial behaviour. Off-road bikes in Redcar and Cleveland are causing destruction, noise pollution around schools, and enable drug trade due to police inability to intervene for safety reasons. Criminal damage and vandalism are prevalent, with vandals destroying community efforts like murals on railway bridges.']

['The Government needs plans to further reduce antisocial behaviour. Sentencing should escalate penalties for repeat offenders to prevent lawlessness escalation. Community Behaviour Orders (CBOs) need more teeth as deterrents and parenting orders should be used more frequently. Housing associations must address problem tenants.']

['Hydrogen is the most abundant element on Earth and has been used historically for heating homes, transportation, and industrial processes. The global challenges related to climate change require realising the potential of hydrogen as an innovative solution to reduce carbon emissions. An estimated 6% saving in heat alone could be achieved by blending 20% hydrogen within the gas network.']

["The Government should make changes to the gas safety management regulations to allow hydrogen blending and mandate the roll-out of hydrogen-ready boilers as early as possible, without additional cost to taxpayers.
