Running a business as a plumber, I was well used to dealing with dirty grubbiness, and there is still plenty of that dirty grubbiness behind me. Running a business is tough, so will the Prime Minister join me in backing the “VAT's the Problem” campaign to cut VAT rates in hospitality? He did not answer the question last week, so will he tell us today: yes or no?

When the Prime Minister was campaigning to be the MP for Makerfield, he said that all of the £39 billion affordable housing fund should be dedicated to building council homes. Will the Secretary of State explain to the 3,180 families in temporary accommodation across Manchester and Tameside, many of them in Gorton and Denton, why the Government have now backtracked and are instead continuing with the lack of ambition we had under Keir Starmer, rather than building as many secure, truly affordable homes as possible?

There is no lack of ambition when it comes social and affordable housing from this Government. At least 60% of that historic £39 billion will go to social rented homes. We have delivered the highest number of council homes since records began in 1991-92. We are taking a pragmatic approach. There are social homes ready to be built by housing associations, but we will ensure that more of the funding goes to councils for direct delivery.

Can the Minister tell me how the music plan will help tackle the structural issues facing grassroots venues, such as the Talleyrand?
Context
Grassroots music venues like the Talleyrand face increasing costs despite emergency relief.

The music plan is part of a whole package to ensure that music thrives in this country, including the £30 million music growth fund. We also have the ticket levy—a £1 voluntary ticket levy on every single ticket sold for major concerts—which puts money straight into grassroots music.

I am concerned about one in three households living in fuel poverty in my constituency, facing even higher bills from 1 July. Does the Minister agree that the Ofgem energy price cap should be frozen to provide universal support for households now and give people certainty in winter?

We are looking at all contingencies for winter support, but proposals must not make the same mistakes as previous Conservative policies that wrote blank cheques without considering costs. We will come forward with plans.
