Companies must be held accountable for harms caused. Does the Deputy Prime Minister agree? What further actions will the Government take?

I welcome the Government's focus on social and affordable homes. In South East Cornwall we really need first homes, not just second homes, as local people face an affordability crisis that is particularly acute among younger people. Cornwall is well placed and eager for a strategic place partnership with Homes England, so will the Minister meet me and other Cornish MPs to discuss that as part of a future devolution deal?

Access to NHS dentistry remains challenging in rural communities such as South East Cornwall, with residents facing significant travel times and insufficient local provision. Will the Minister meet me to discuss what steps can be taken to improve access?
Context
Residents of South East Cornwall face long travel times and limited provision for NHS dental services. This area is considered a dental desert.

My hon. Friend is right that there are areas known as dental deserts, and we need to fix this issue by incentivising dentists to provide NHS work regardless of location. There are particularly acute pressures in constituencies like South East Cornwall, and I would be happy to meet her to discuss these further.

As a co-chair of the all-party parliamentary groups on sustainable finance and on global deforestation, I remain concerned that around £388 billion in UK pension savings is still invested in fossil fuels and deforestation-related activities. Will the Minister reassure me further that undermining the long-term financial security of savers in South East Cornwall is not the Government’s intention, and will he commit to reviewing this, including via the Pension Schemes Bill and the landmark pensions review?

My hon. Friend has been a powerful campaigner on this issue for some years, and she will know that larger pension schemes are now required to publish annual reports with climate-related disclosures. The evidence shows that around two thirds of pension funds have a net zero commitment in place, and we will be reviewing those regulations over the course of this year.

What progress has been made on ratifying the agreement under the United Nations convention on the law of the sea on the conservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity of areas beyond national jurisdiction? Can the Minister confirm when legislation to ratify the agreement will be introduced, or provide a clear timetable?
Context
The UK has led world-class conservation efforts and committed to the landmark high seas treaty. However, without ratification, the UK risks losing its place in shaping this vital treaty's implementation and future direction.

The Minister has not ruled in or out any approach to the deforestation regulations under the Environment Act 2021, despite its passage over three years ago with strong public and cross-party support. I am concerned about the uncertainty for UK businesses regarding the import of commodities linked to illegal deforestation. Will the Minister provide a clear timeline for when secondary legislation will come into force? Additionally, will she meet me as co-chair of the all-party parliamentary group on global deforestation alongside other Members to discuss how we can strengthen and accelerate its implementation?
Context
Tomorrow is the International Day of Forests, highlighting ongoing public and cross-party support for the Environment Act 2021 passed over three years ago. The act's provisions to prevent imports linked to illegal deforestation remain unimplemented.

The UK strongly supports global efforts to protect forests and is advocating for an international commitment to halt and reverse forest loss by 2030 while supporting economic development. Nothing has yet been ruled in or out regarding the approach to deforestation regulations under the Environment Act 2021, but I would be happy to meet my hon. Friend to discuss this further.
