I associate myself with the Prime Minister's comments about the bravery of the Ukrainian people. Labour has asked his Government on three occasions to commit to a police response to every domestic abuse call. To date, no answer has been forthcoming. Can the Prime Minister provide a response today?

Under this Government, 10,000 neighbourhood police officers have disappeared since 2015 and have yet to be replaced on the frontline. Given the Government's proclivity for lifting Labour's policies, may I gently encourage the Minister to adopt Labour's plan to recruit 13,000 new neighbourhood police officers, allowing for a named, contactable officer in every ward in the country?

For a period last year, Urmston train station in my constituency was one of the country's 10 worst performing train stations for service reliability. Given the level of service experienced by my constituents who use Urmston and other stations on the line, why are they set to face an inflation-busting fare increase in March?

If we take the current year's fares as an example, we delivered the biggest Government intervention on rail fares since privatisation by capping fare increases at 5.9%, which was 6.4 percentage points below the July RPI. In the last three years, the UK taxpayer has contributed £45.9 billion to keep the railways going.

Since 2010, regulated fares across Great Britain have decreased by around 7% compared with the retail prices index. The Government continue to intervene to keep fares affordable, and to encourage travel, by capping increases below inflation and delivering initiatives such as the second great British rail sale.

The Government has made progress in reducing two-year waiting lists almost entirely, and those with 18-month waits have been significantly reduced. The WorkWell service is being rolled out to integrate medical input and work coach support, along with fit note reform to assist at an earlier stage of the journey.

This Government have been behind £104 billion-worth of support for the most vulnerable over the period 2022 to 2025; poverty in absolute terms, after housing, has fallen by 1.7 million since 2009-10; we have 400,000 fewer children and 200,000 fewer pensioners in absolutely poverty—under the last Labour Government, we had the fourth highest level of pensioner poverty in Europe; and we have put the national living wage up by 9.8% and cut taxes as well.

It is vital that victims of serious sexual assault are supported through what can often be a lengthy and traumatic process, yet many do not access early mental health support because their therapy notes can be requested. Does the Minister agree that a specialist legal advocate for victims could allow them to challenge invasive requests for private information?

The Law Commission is looking into this issue, which already appears in the Victims and Prisoners Bill. There are now 950 dedicated independent sexual violence advisers supporting victims of rape and serious sexual abuse every step of the way.

Since 2010, this Government have transformed the legislative landscape on tackling violence against women. We created new criminal offences of stalking, non-fatal strangulation and coercive control, implemented comprehensive modern slavery and domestic abuse laws, outlawed insidious harms such as revenge porn and the “rough sex” defence to murder. Prosecutions for rape are up with sentences about 50% longer than in 2010. We continue this work through our Sentencing Bill, Criminal Justice Bill and Victims and Prisoners Bill.

Thirteen years of failed Tory economic policies, alongside last year's disastrous mini-Budget, have, as my hon. Friend the Member for Weaver Vale (Mike Amesbury) says, left thousands and thousands of mortgage holders subject to high interest rates and sky-high inflation. So I repeat his call: will any member of the Treasury team have the decency to apologise to the very many hard-pressed families who are currently subject to the Tory mortgage penalty?

Reports to the police are up, referrals by the police to the CPS are up, and charges and Crown court receipts for such crimes are up. The Government will take no lessons from Labour about being tough on sentencing; that party voted against measures in the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022 to give judges the power to increase sentences.

It remains our priority to deliver swifter justice for victims. We are increasing court capacity by removing the limit on sitting days in the Crown court, recruiting up to 1,000 more judges across all jurisdictions in 2022-23, tackling the Criminal Bar Association strike that added to delays, and implementing a £1.3 billion court reform programme.
