Tourism is a vital part of the UK economy, especially in coastal areas like North Devon where it accounts for up to 60% of jobs and income. Despite the Chancellor's support measures announced on July 8th, including £4.6 billion in direct support through VAT cuts and the eat out to help out scheme, there are concerns about whether the sector has seen enough recovery to survive winter given recent data showing spending down by half compared to last year.
