The Government have introduced new covid-19 secure workplace guidance to help employers and workers return safely to work. This includes measures such as working from home where possible, maintaining social distancing, managing transmission risk when 2-metre distances cannot be maintained, reinforcing cleaning processes, conducting a covid-19 risk assessment in consultation with workers or trade unions, and displaying notices showing adherence to the guidance. The Government have consulted approximately 250 stakeholders and provided an extra £14 million for the Health and Safety Executive.

We aim to ensure workplaces are safe and save lives; guidance applies to all businesses, with support for small companies. Emphasises collaboration between employers and trade unions, increased HSE funding, and the right of workers to report unsafe conditions. Urges employers to support flexible working arrangements.
