Moves to introduce a Bill making it mandatory for vets to scan microchips before euthanising healthy dogs and for local authorities to scan microchips of deceased cats. The Bill is prompted by the deaths of two pets, Tuk and Gizmo, due to failure in scanning their microchips which would have identified rescue back-ups or owners.
