No Minister has addressed the situation of over 155,000 people across the UK who are still without electricity due to Storm Arwen. In Cumbria alone, thousands of residents in various towns such as Coniston, Haverthwaite, Torver, Hawkshead, Grayrigg, Shap, Alston, Troutbeck, Garsdale, parts of Windermere, Kirkby Stephen and the Cartmel peninsula have endured their fourth night without power. There is an urgent need for support to help engineers working tirelessly to restore electricity, possibly involving the Army. Community volunteers are also aiding vulnerable individuals suffering from cold and hunger.
