The Speaker announced that Her Majesty's Government’s priorities for the upcoming parliamentary session include growing and strengthening the economy, easing the cost of living, levelling up opportunity in all parts of the country, supporting more people into work, funding the National Health Service to reduce the COVID backlogs, modernising rail services, transitioning to cheaper, cleaner energy, reforming education, championing international trade, protecting the integrity of the UK’s borders, and ensuring the constitution is defended. Additionally, legislation will be introduced for local growth, transport improvement, competition rules for digital markets, financial services reforms, tackling illicit finance, conversion therapy ban, and an independent regulator of English football.
