Mr Coyle apologised sincerely for his drunk and offensive behaviour that caused harm to the complainants, constituents in Southwark, members of his local Labour party, and expressed gratitude towards those who reported him. He acknowledged the Independent Expert Panel's report and accepted sanctions with no resistance. Mr Coyle stated he is abstinent from alcohol now and has undergone training on unconscious bias. He promised to work harder for his community and family, especially for the east and south-east Asian communities.
