Opened the debate
Moves a Bill to reduce the duty charged on renewable liquid heating fuel derived from waste, which can be adapted to existing boilers at low cost. The Bill aims to establish a better path towards decarbonising energy in off-grid homes, currently mainly in rural communities relying on kerosene boilers for their heating. It would extend the RTFO mechanism and remove current duties from these renewable fuels to achieve parity with kerosene, leading to rapid adoption of HVO.
