Government Response
The Minister congratulated Ben Everitt on securing the debate and acknowledged his tireless campaigning for better healthcare in Milton Keynes. The government committed to releasing £11 million up to 2022-23 and an additional £680,000 in the current financial year for scheme development funding. A further £120,000 will be made available for a multi-storey car park and high voltage supply upgrade. The Minister emphasised that these plans will be delivered at pace while ensuring safety, with rigorous assurance processes to ensure value for taxpayers' money. He also provided updates on other new hospital projects across the UK, reiterating the government's commitment to delivering the new Milton Keynes hospital by 2030.
