Kaur expresses pride in Southampton, a city rich with historical significance, economic importance, and cultural diversity. It has contributed significantly to global history, including being the birthplace of the Mayflower pilgrims, home of the Spitfire during WWII, and origin of internet technology. Doncaster Central
It is an honour to deliver my maiden speech in the Sir David Amess Adjournment debate. Doncaster's industrial history is marked by railway manufacturing and mining, with a rich heritage that continues to shape its community today. Despite facing challenges due to local government cuts and broken promises, there are opportunities for growth under Labour's commitment to clean energy. I am proud of my work as a prison officer and will continue the legacy of service in Doncaster Central. I pay tribute to the dedicated staff at HMP Moorland and highlight the urgent need to address issues within the children’s care system that lead to disproportionate numbers of care-experienced individuals entering the criminal justice system.

Henley and Thame
I congratulate Sally Jameson on her maiden speech. My constituency, Henley and Thame, has a rich history and natural beauty, including the Chilterns national landscape and the historic Ridgeway trail. The area faces serious environmental challenges, such as the sewage crisis in the rivers Thames and Thame. I support residents who fight against development at RAF Benson to preserve its heritage and protect the local community. I pay tribute to my predecessor John Howell for his dedication and express gratitude to my wife for her unwavering support.

The constituency has a rich history with previous Labour MPs like Baroness Ann Taylor, Ruth Kelly, and Julie Hilling. My background includes working against financial crime, and I am proud to be a public servant for the people of Bolton West. The area is diverse with towns such as Westhoughton, Horwich, Blackrod, and parts of Bolton, each with unique challenges and strengths. There are numerous organisations and charities supporting my constituents, including Bolton mountain rescue team and pioneering community centres. Lichfield
The city of Lichfield has a long-standing religious and ecumenical heritage, with significant historical figures like Chad of Mercia establishing a cathedral and diocese there in the 7th century. The area is also home to the Staffordshire hoard, one of the largest collections of Anglo-Saxon gold ever found, which continues to influence our understanding of early British history. In addition to its rich cultural heritage, Lichfield has seen many industrial developments, including the establishment of Armitage Shanks in Armitage and significant canal networks such as the Coventry canal and Trent and Mersey canal.

West Dorset
I am extremely honoured to be giving my maiden speech in a debate named after the late, great Sir David Amess. I express gratitude for this opportunity and thank all Members who have given their maiden speeches today. West Dorset is home to world-famous sites such as the Jurassic coast and Mary Anning’s contributions to prehistoric life studies. However, it faces severe environmental challenges like sewage pollution in rivers and beaches. I commit to pressuring the Government to take serious action on this issue. As a constituency defined by its countryside, we urgently need a national food and farming strategy that delivers sustainable living for our farmers. We require further government support for renewable energy as well as climate change mitigation efforts.

Alloa and Grangemouth
The news that Grangemouth will stop refining oil in quarter 2 of 2025 is devastating, affecting not only the local community but also areas across Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the north of England. The refinery's history dates back over a century, providing key infrastructure for aviation fuel and ground fuels, as well as supporting the Forties oil pipeline. It contributes 4% to Scotland’s GDP and employs skilled workers from an already experienced workforce. The closure will impact social mobility and local industries such as shops, pubs, restaurants, hotels, cafés, bed and breakfasts, and snack vans. The campaign aims to extend the refinery's life by investing in the workforce for a just transition towards cleaner industries like sustainable aviation fuels, low-carbon hydrogen, and clean e-fuels.

I thank all hon. Members for their fine contributions, including my hon. Friend the Member for Epsom and Ewell and the hon. Member for Sittingbourne and Sheppey.
