The Government's first six months in office have been catastrophic, with damaging effects on the economy. High street retailers reported their worst sales decline since COVID-19; business confidence is at a four-year low. Employment continues to fall, job vacancies are at three-year lows, and long-term interest rates have risen to their highest level since 1998 due to severe investor worry about Labour’s spending plans.
