The hon. Member raised a point of order regarding the exclusion of the Green party from cross-party talks on social care, which the Prime Minister announced at the end of July. She expressed concern that the Green party had not been invited despite their involvement in the Casey commission cross-party talks for the past 18 months. She also mentioned that the Leader of the House suggested smaller parties had not taken up an invitation, but no such invitation was ever issued to the Green party.

The hon. Member for Romsey and Southampton North responded by confirming that the hon. Member for Brighton, Pavilion had raised the matter with the Leader of the House prior to making the point of order. She advised that the content of ministerial answers to questions and contributions on the Floor of the House is not a matter for the Chair, but those on the Government Front Bench will have noted her remarks. She also stated that if any correction to the record is necessary because of an inadvertent error, it will be forthcoming.
