While the Renters’ Rights Bill has been progressing through Parliament, many tenants have faced no-fault eviction. Can the Minister provide a timeline for when these protections will be in place to protect those facing such evictions and ensure there is no further harm?

Government Response

Government Response
I thank the right hon. Gentleman for his point. We are committed to providing certainty regarding how the new system will be implemented, ensuring both renters and landlords have a clear understanding of their rights under this legislation. The purpose of the amendments we are discussing is to exempt shared owners from certain eviction periods when they intend to sell their property, but with safeguards in place to protect tenants. We remain dedicated to swiftly finalizing the bill to provide much-needed protections for vulnerable tenants.
