Question
What immediate support are the Government putting in place for people who find themselves without insurance?
Minister reply
An emergency financial initiative is available. Welsh Government officials are working with community groups, the local council and us to ensure that they have access to those emergency funds.
Government Response
I can confirm that significant support is being provided to those affected by recent flooding in Monmouthshire. The Prime Minister offered UK Government’s support, and the Welsh Government has committed over £370 million towards flood risk reduction across Wales. Emergency funding discussions are ongoing with local authorities. Flood Re provides cover for over 345,000 household policies annually. A mobile demonstration unit called the Floodmobile is currently in Monmouth to showcase property flood resilience measures. The Secretary of State and other officials are on the ground to ensure that all affected communities receive necessary support as quickly as possible.
